California’s golden boy, Gavin Newsom, was supposed to be the Democrats’ ace in the hole—a fresh face who could sweep right in and save their failing party from the disaster that is Joe Biden. Instead, Newsom keeps tripping over his own ego at every turn. His so-called “campaign” hasn’t even officially started, and yet it’s already a train wreck. This week, Newsom reminded us all why his political brand—coated in California glitz and backed by Silicon Valley overlords—doesn’t play well anywhere outside of far-left echo chambers.
While parading around on his cringeworthy book tour, Newsom managed—in typical liberal fashion—to make it clear he’s already sizing up Kamala Harris as roadkill on his path to the White House. Instead of practicing the unity Democrats always preach, he all but shoved the sitting Vice President aside to make room for himself in the spotlight. It’s the classic liberal game: talk about diversity and respect, then instantly abandon your so-called allies when power is at stake.
Let’s not forget who Newsom is. He’s the self-appointed king of draconian lockdowns, anti-business mandates, and woke social experiments—the mastermind behind California’s descent into chaos. Homelessness, sky-high taxes, surging crime—they’re all his legacy. Yet Democrats want us to believe this guy is the answer to America’s problems? Newsom talks a big game about “defending democracy,” but he can’t even defend basic quality of life for the people in his own state.
Kamala Harris isn’t exactly popular in her own right, but Newsom’s cold disregard for her ambition shows us the real priorities of the liberal elite. It’s not about what’s best for the country. It’s not even about building a strong party. It’s about power for themselves—no matter who they step on along the way. California-style politics have failed. Now we see Democrats scrambling behind the scenes, exposing their hypocrisy as they fight like children over who gets to lead the circus after Biden.
Maybe Newsom figures nobody will notice his failures while he takes cheap shots at Kamala. Maybe he thinks Americans want another privileged, self-serving politician who only listens to his Hollywood donors. Does the left really believe he’s some kind of savior, or are they just out of options? One thing’s for sure: If this is the best the Democrats have, Republicans might as well start planning the inauguration party right now.
