California’s golden boy, Gavin Newsom, is at it again—this time, trying to cozy up to Georgia’s Black voters by confessing how he supposedly scraped by with a lousy SAT score and even had trouble reading. The whole act reeked of fake humility. It was the oldest trick in the Democrat playbook: pretend you’re just as downtrodden and “relatable” as the average American, when in reality, you’ve spent your entire life cruising on a wave of elite privilege.
It’s a joke and an insult to every hard-working American. Newsom was born with every advantage money could buy. He’s been propped up by family connections at every stage. Now, as he eyes a national audience in a desperate bid for attention (and maybe a presidential run), he’s rewriting his own story—claiming his lack of achievement somehow makes him more authentic. The gall is astounding. He wants people to believe that fumbling through life because mommy and daddy always bailed him out means he’s “one of us.” Newsom wasn’t struggling through adversity—he was shielded from the consequences the rest of us face.
But this goes beyond just Newsom. This is how the radical Left operates. They pander to every group they can name, eventually running out of identities to exploit, and then try to sell stupidity as a sign of depth. Instead of raising the bar and challenging people to be better, they drag us down and encourage mediocrity. The Democrats keep telling Americans that being ordinary is enough—that failing is somehow virtuous if you say the right woke catchphrase.
Virtue signaling isn’t enough for them anymore. Now it’s “stupid signaling.” Newsom’s message to voters is basically, “I made it this far despite my laziness and failures, and so can you—if your parents are rich enough.” He treats regular voters like they’re too naïve to see through his elitist act. The arrogance from these so-called “progressives” knows no bounds. They want applause for coasting through life, while mocking the intelligence of the very people they pretend to champion.
Americans deserve leaders who tell the truth and elevate the conversation—not dumb it down for cheap applause. Newsom’s stunt is a slap in the face to everyone who worked hard to achieve their dreams, without a safety net of family fortune. If this is the best the Democrats have to offer—an entitled governor trying to win over voters by bragging about his failures—maybe they should look a little deeper for real leadership. Otherwise, what’s next? Are they going to tell us being unqualified is admirable? That we should all just settle for less because Gavin Newsom did?
