Progressive policies are killing your favorite NYC restaurants and nobody is talking about it

The far-left’s war on New York City’s restaurant scene has hit a new low. While millions of Americans are already crushed by skyrocketing food prices, so-called progressives like Zohran Mamdani keep pushing “fixes” that threaten to blow up what’s left of our city’s dining culture. It’s almost as if these radicals have never set foot in a packed pizza joint or bodega—much less spoken to the hardworking owners sweating to keep the doors open.

Just look around. Nearly 90% of Americans are losing sleep over grocery bills alone. More than half call it a major source of anxiety. Families are pinching pennies, stretching every paycheck, and still can’t keep up. Thanks, Joe Biden. But instead of real solutions, leftists are doubling down on their failed policies. They want more government controls, more regulations, more “equity committees” and red tape. Guess who pays the price? It’s the small business owners—the backbone of this city, who already face taxes, crime, and nonsensical mandates at every turn.

Let’s make this clear: these progressive “fixes” are not about helping the little guy. They’re about cranking up government control and rewarding activist buddies while regular folks suffer. If these rules go through, say goodbye to your favorite neighborhood diners, kebab stands, or sushi spots. The billionaire-backed chains will survive, but the real taste of NYC? That’ll be tossed in the trash along with the city’s soul.

It’s pure hypocrisy. The same liberals who claim to care about workers and “diversity” seem eager to destroy the very businesses owned by immigrants, minorities, and blue-collar families. All in the name of some twisted utopian dream that never manages to work in real life. New Yorkers deserve better than to be guinea pigs for globalist fantasies cooked up in faculty lounges and union boardrooms.

When will the left admit their policies are breaking this city—not saving it? Maybe when they can find a single family who’s grateful for steeper prices, fewer jobs, and empty storefronts. Until then, real New Yorkers should fight back and demand common sense—not socialist experiments—at City Hall. Why let the same people who wrecked our grocery bills ruin our favorite places to eat, too?
