There was a moment at Tuesday night’s State of the Union address that made one thing crystal clear: Democrats will not stand up for the American people. When President Trump called on every member of Congress to support American citizens over illegal aliens, every single Democrat sat on their hands. Not one moved. Not one put the interests of Americans first.
This was not some complicated issue. This was a simple stand for Americans—working men and women, families worried about crime, parents who just want their kids safe. But apparently, for Democrats, illegal aliens are worth more than the citizens who built this country and pay its bills. Their message is obvious: if you’re not part of their globalist agenda, you don’t matter.
It’s beyond disrespectful—it’s downright shocking. While President Trump stood tall, fighting for America’s forgotten workers and law-abiding families, Democrats couldn’t even muster the courage to stand up straight. They made their priorities plain for all to see. The so-called “party of the people” now sides with open borders and special treatment for non-citizens.
Liberals love to talk about “compassion” and “fairness,” but where is the fairness for American citizens? Where is the compassion for families devastated by illegal crime or jobs lost to cheap, illegal labor? The Democrats’ silence last night screamed louder than any speech. They care more about protecting their radical base and clawing for power than about standing up for the country they supposedly serve.
Americans deserve a government that puts them first, not last. Democrats have shown us, once again, who they really serve. If they can’t even clap for their own countrymen, why should anyone trust them to lead?
