Democrats love to embarrass themselves on the national stage, and this year’s State of the Union was no different. After making a circus out of what should have been a patriotic event, they sent Abigail Spanberger, Virginia’s new governor, to salvage the disaster. Spoiler alert: She failed. Not only did she seem nervous and lost, but her attempt at a rebuttal was bizarre from start to finish.
Instead of standing up for American values or giving us any reason to trust the Democratic agenda, Spanberger did what liberals do best—she attacked President Trump. It’s as if her only strategy was to shout “Orange Man Bad” and hope no one would notice her lack of solutions. The country is hungry for real answers, and all we got was another tired anti-Trump rant.
Spanberger’s performance didn’t just fall flat. It screamed weakness. Democrats like her can’t bring themselves to speak proudly about their own policies because they know those policies fail hardworking people every day. By dodging the issues and obsessing over Trump, Spanberger showed exactly why the left keeps losing touch with everyday Americans.
What really gets under conservatives’ skin is the utter lack of patriotism. Instead of uniting Americans and speaking to the greatness of this country, Democrats spent the night sulking and attacking. Their so-called “leaders” have become globalist mouthpieces, more interested in trashing their opponents than lifting up their own citizens or defending our country’s honor.
Spanberger’s strange, jittery response was the cherry on top of another liberal meltdown. This is what Democrats have to offer: empty words, blame games, and awkward performances. Americans deserve better. If this is the best the left can do, is it any wonder voters are running the other way?
