Total meltdown. The same names at CNN and CBS just couldn’t contain themselves, scrambling to spin every powerful moment into some sort of doomsday scenario. But here’s the problem for these left-wing talking heads: the American people aren’t buying it, and the poll numbers say it loud and clear.
While cable “news” hosts raised their voices and rolled their eyes, regular Americans watching the speech were actually more impressed the longer Trump spoke. That’s right—every minute he rattled off wins for our country, he pulled in more and more support from the folks who count: voters. Suddenly, the liberal pundits had to swallow their pride and admit it was a strong performance, even if it nearly made them gag to say the truth out loud.
You can always count on liberal media elites to show their true colors, though. Instead of admitting Trump resonated with ordinary people, they tried every trick in the book. One minute they’re pretending a Democrat like Abigail Spanberger is some middle-of-the-road moderate—give us a break. The next, they’re bizarrely comparing Medal of Honor moments to TV game shows. The disrespect is unbelievable. When did common sense and patriotism become so offensive to these holier-than-thou anchors?
Let’s not kid ourselves: this is the same crew that thinks standing up for our military, defending the border, and saluting our heroes is somehow controversial. The liberal establishment hates that Trump puts America first, and they panic every time the public supports him. CNN regulars look more shocked than ever whenever a real poll makes them choke on their condescension.
The truth is, the American people are sick of the double standards and out-of-touch lectures from the media. Trump’s State of the Union broke through the noise, and that drives the left absolutely insane. If the so-called journalists spent half as much time listening to real Americans as they do bashing Trump, maybe they’d learn a thing or two about what this country stands for. But that’s too much to expect from a crowd whose worst nightmare is seeing the nation rally behind a president who actually puts America first.
