For too long, the federal government has been a safe haven for mediocrity. Bureaucrats soared through their cushy jobs, knowing they’d get a gold star just for showing up. Performance reviews were nothing more than a box to check, with standards so low you’d trip over them. Washington elites turned the government into a playground where actual achievement didn’t matter—everyone got a ribbon. No wonder America’s taxpayers are sick to death of government waste.
That changes now. Scott Kupor, the new head honcho at the Office of Personnel Management, is finally tearing down the “everybody wins” circus under the dome. For years, liberals and their globalist partners have coddled government workers, setting up rules that protected underperformers and punished hard-chargers. These progressives masked their cowardice behind words like “fairness” and “inclusion.” Meanwhile, hardworking Americans in the private sector had to pull the weight for two just to stay ahead.
Kupor’s overhaul gets rid of the hand-holding nonsense. Agencies won’t be forced to hand out participation awards. Managers can actually judge performance honestly instead of being trapped by fake “forced distributions.” Imagine that—merit and results back in Washington. Must be making the left shake in their latte cups! The entitlement generation that expects government jobs to be lifetime sinecures is about to get a harsh reality check.
Of course, the liberal crowd will stomp their feet. That’s what they do anytime someone demands accountability. They’ve turned the federal workforce into a jobs program for the lazy, a security blanket for the unqualified. No more. Kupor’s plan should be just the beginning. If you can’t do your job, you shouldn’t keep it at the expense of taxpayers who work twice as hard for half the reward.
America became great by expecting excellence and rewarding results, not mediocrity. Now, the government is finally catching up to what real Americans already know. Maybe it’s time to make participation trophies a collector’s item—and make federal workers earn their keep for a change. Will Washington’s army of paper-pushers stand up and deliver, or run crying to their union handlers? Guess we’ll see if reality is too much for the snowflakes behind those taxpayer-funded desks.
