Instead of bowing to progressive bullies, she called out anti-American, anti-white curriculum and the twisted obsession with gender and sexuality sweeping classrooms. For that, she got blacklisted.
Liberals scream about “diversity,” but what they really mean is discrimination—especially against anyone who doesn’t check their politically correct boxes. The Commission for Health Advocacy & Equity in Rhode Island is a perfect example. State law outright requires that this panel be majority “minority,” so anyone who’s white may as well not even apply. This isn’t some far-fetched conspiracy—it’s their actual policy. If the numbers don’t fit their racial quotas, tough luck.
Bessinger decided to push back by applying for a spot on the health commission, hoping to bring real balance, not just more leftist groupthink. But what happened? She was flat-out rejected, with the government basically admitting they refuse to seat her because of her skin color. Let’s be clear: this isn’t “anti-racism.” This is the very discrimination that civil rights laws were supposed to end. Yet the modern left embraces it in the name of “equity.” Welcome to a world where skin color matters more than merit, and where anyone who challenges progressive dogma is shut out.
Activists and lawyers helping Bessinger found that Rhode Island’s commission already meets its so-called “diversity” quota, but the deck still isn’t stacked in favor of fairness. When government agencies pick winners and losers based on race, they’re not building a better country—they’re tearing it apart. Bessinger’s lawsuit shows what real courage looks like—a citizen refusing to surrender her rights to the globalist machine churning out division and resentment.
This is the America the left wants: rewards for some, rejection for others—all while preaching unity. Maybe it’s time the bureaucrats stop obsessing over who checks which racial box and get back to serving everybody.
