America just witnessed one of its proudest moments: the men’s hockey team bringing home Olympic gold by beating Canada in a nail-biting overtime thriller. But while the country cheered, the left couldn’t stand it. Instead of celebrating a victory that should unite the nation, left-wing voices whined and pouted simply because it didn’t fit their tired narrative.
Apparently, watching a group of patriotic young men return home as heroes is just too much for some liberals. They find it “hard to watch” — of course they do. Anything that smacks of American pride sends them into a tailspin. The rest of us feel nothing but admiration for these athletes, but the woke crowd sees only an opportunity to scold and moan.
This is the modern left in a nutshell. Instead of backbone and gratitude, they offer complaints and disdain. For them, patriotism is a dirty word. Success on the world stage? That’s a problem if it makes Americans happy. Any show of unity, pride, or even just a handshake across state lines is somehow offensive to the professional victims leading our media.
It speaks volumes that the liberal crowd can’t even bring themselves to enjoy a win against Canada, America’s polite neighbor up north. The hatred of all things American is so deep, so programmed, that they reflexively bash anything that makes this country look strong. If these armchair critics had been in the locker room, they’d probably have demanded the gold medal be shipped off to the UN for redistribution.
Let’s call this what it is: another example of liberal bitterness trying to sour a moment of pure American triumph. The question is, how much longer will the left get away with spitting on the very things that make this nation great? Maybe next time the team will need to check with the globalist crowd before daring to win for their own country.
