Once again, the left has shown us exactly who they are. When Karoline Leavitt laid out a list of common-sense policies — like bringing down crime and making sure only American citizens can vote — Democrats didn’t just disagree. They recoiled as if someone suggested the unthinkable. Apparently, having fewer murders and keeping our elections secure is a bridge too far for liberals.
This is the upside-down world the left wants to force on Americans. Want voter ID? The same Democrats who need an ID to get into their swanky DC events clutch their pearls at the idea of asking for it at the polls. They pretend it’s about “access” or “fairness.” What it’s really about is power. The left doesn’t want oversight because oversight threatens their grip on the ballot box. They’re happy to trade America’s security for more control—plain and simple.
And crime? Don’t even get them started. Mention reducing murders and you’ll get a lecture about root causes and “defund the police.” Democrats would rather see American families living in fear than stand up to their activist base. The bodies keep piling up, but not a whisper from the liberal elite. It’s almost as if the suffering of everyday Americans is just background noise to their endless social experiments.
This isn’t what leadership looks like. There was a time when politicians, no matter the party, agreed on a basic level: Protect innocent life and safeguard our democracy. Now, the left would rather score points on cable news than take action. They wring their hands on TV while America’s streets grow more dangerous and the integrity of our elections crumbles.
Is this the best Democrats have to offer? If they can’t even stomach policies that keep Americans safe and elections honest, maybe it’s time for voters to reconsider who really has the country’s best interest in mind. Want fewer murders and fair elections? Don’t hold your breath waiting for the left to step up. They’re too busy protecting their own interests to fight for yours.
