But what’s she really cheering for? More global entanglements, more political showboating, and definitely not what’s best for American workers or taxpayers.
For over a century, crossing from Detroit to Windsor has been handled just fine. Now, here comes the so-called “Gordie Howe International Bridge.” Liberals like Whitmer claim it’s a victory – but for whom? Is it really for the hardworking folks of Michigan, or is it just another notch in the belt for international elites and crony insiders? Ordinary citizens will be stuck footing the bill, while globalists clap from their fancy offices.
Let’s remember, President Trump actually had the guts to stand up to reckless spending on “big” projects with little benefit to everyday Americans. The left wanted to paint him as the bad guy simply for demanding accountability. Whitmer, on the other hand, can’t see past her photo-ops. She’s too busy scoring points with her liberal pals to care about the serious questions about cost, security, and who really profits from these cross-border schemes.
Canadian officials are all smiles, because they know this bridge opens the door to more of their goods pouring into America, threatening local businesses and manufacturing jobs. Meanwhile, the Democrats pretend like this is about “unity” and “progress.” The only thing they’re unifying around is more government waste and more power for the global class.
Bottom line—America gets the short end again when Democrats like Whitmer are driving the bus. She celebrates shiny bridges and open borders, but who is looking out for the American middle class? Maybe someone should ask her why she’s so eager to cater to globalist interests instead of fighting for the people she claims to represent.
