Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett has finally shown what the left really thinks about a free press: only as long as it serves their agenda. In a stunning move, her own campaign reportedly called the cops—yes, the police—on CNN. That’s not a typo. Crockett, who loves to preach about transparency and “protecting democracy,” actually sicced law enforcement on the liberal media. The same media that has bent over backwards to defend her party for years.
What happened next? Another reporter was physically escorted out of her campaign rally. So much for the “party of inclusion.” Democrats scream about threats to freedom, but when the cameras turn on them, the mask slips. Suddenly, it’s all about control. They want the press to stick to friendly softball questions. If reporters ask real questions or dig too deep, out come the cops, and the doors slam shut.
People always hear that the left cares about accountability. But when their own feet are held to the fire, the playbook changes fast. Instead of honest answers, they strongarm the very journalists who used to sing their praises. Liberals can’t survive without the protection of the media, but the second someone stops playing cheerleader, see how quick they are to crack down.
Crockett’s circus is just another sign that the Democratic establishment is cracking. Their leaders are running scared. The grassroots know the truth about these so-called champions of “open debate.” It’s all a façade. They fear real questions because deep down, they know the American people are waking up to the lies and incompetence, from D.C. to Dallas.
The question Americans should be asking: if Democrats are trying to silence their friends in the media, what are they really hiding from the rest of us? Maybe it’s time voters call security on the entire radical left.
