Ilhan Omar outraged after her guest is arrested for chaos at Trump’s State of the Union

The left never misses a chance to play the victim—especially when they’re caught breaking the rules. Just look at what happened during President Trump’s triumphant State of the Union. Ilhan Omar, the self-proclaimed voice for the “oppressed,” brought along a guest who seemed more interested in causing chaos than respecting America’s traditions. When this guest–a Minneapolis software engineer named Aliya Rahman–decided the rules didn’t apply, she tried turning the House gallery into her own protest stage. Security did their job, removed her, and she ended up in handcuffs.

But now, Omar’s crying foul, demanding investigations into what? That her friend got treated like anyone else who disrupts a solemn event? This is classic liberal hypocrisy. The same Democrats who wanted order and silence when their guy was in charge suddenly can’t handle any consequences when they break the rules under President Trump’s watch. It’s another reminder: leftists only love law and order when it serves their agenda.

Why should there be a special investigation just because Omar’s friend didn’t think the rules applied to her? Imagine the outrage if someone wearing a MAGA hat had stood up and interrupted Obama’s speech years ago. The media would’ve called for jail time, not apologies. But the left thinks being woke gives you a free pass to disrespect the American system. Always the double standard.

Ilhan Omar loves to play the outsider, to act like America’s rules and traditions are somehow up for debate. But let’s be very clear: the State of the Union isn’t a street protest or a campus rally. It’s a symbol of our democracy. Anyone who tramples on that—whether guest or lawmaker—has no business complaining when they get held accountable. The American people are sick of this circus.

If Omar’s more concerned about her guest’s bruised feelings than the dignity of our government, she should remember which country she’s serving. Maybe next time, instead of stunts, her guests could try respecting the country that gives them the freedom to speak at all. Or is respect for America too much to ask from today’s Democrats?
