Senator John Fetterman is at it again. This week, he reintroduced the so-called Railway Safety Act, wrapping it up with pretty words and vague promises. Supposedly, this effort is about protecting Americans from the kind of disaster we saw in East Palestine three years ago. Anyone with common sense remembers the chaos when hazardous materials derailed, and the liberal media pretended it came out of nowhere. Suddenly, Democrats like Fetterman want everyone to think they’re the champions of public safety.
But where were these politicians when it mattered? For years, train safety was ignored while globalist corporations and left-wing politicians lined their pockets. It took a horrible train wreck for them to finally pretend to care. Now they’re pushing another pile of regulations. Will more laws help, or is this just another way for big government to grab more power? Liberals love to scream for more laws, but when disaster strikes, they always blame someone else for failure.
If these big-government types really cared, trains would have already been safe. But their real interest isn’t in protecting Americans—it’s about control, and about scoring easy political points. Meanwhile, real American workers and small towns get crushed under the weight of more federal rules cooked up by Washington insiders. Make no mistake: local communities are the real heroes, stepping up to clean up the mess after bureaucrats have fled the scene.
The so-called bipartisan support for this act is just window dressing. Both parties are guilty of selling out, but it’s the Democrats who turn every problem into another excuse for government meddling and bigger budgets. Instead of protecting families and businesses, they handcuff our industries, and then pat themselves on the back for “doing something.”
Taxpayers should be furious. How many times do we have to watch clueless politicians act surprised when their patchwork fixes and half-baked ideas fail? America deserves solutions that actually work—not more slogans and government overreach. Will we ever see real accountability in Washington? Or will these liberal lawmakers keep treating our safety like their own political game?
