San Francisco progressives caught chanting tax the Jews during chaotic city hall protest

San Francisco has hit a new low. During a recent press conference about tax reform, what started as chants of “tax the rich” quickly spiraled into open calls to “tax the Jews.” Yes, in America, in 2026, the ugly face of anti-Semitism is now paraded in public, loud and proud, by the so-called progressives who claim to fight for justice.

Here’s what really happened: Mayor Daniel Lurie, who happens to be Jewish, tried to talk about fixing broken tax policies and encouraging more housing in the city. Instead of hearing bold ideas, what the public got was a mob, reportedly made up of Democratic Socialists of America activists, shouting anti-Jewish hate. These radicals didn’t care about solutions. Their goal was chaos and division.

But no surprise here. This is the fruit of years of leftist rhetoric where class envy gets twisted into ethnic hate. First, it’s about punishing success, then suddenly, it’s about targeting a community that’s contributed so much to American life. The chant-mob didn’t just heckle a mayor—they targeted every Jewish family in San Francisco, turning “equity” into ugly scapegoating. And let’s not pretend this is some rogue actor. When the fringes of the left scream hate, the so-called “mainstream” socialists fall over themselves to pass the blame instead of cleaning up their own backyard.

City officials rushed to post statements about how this “isn’t San Francisco.” But let’s be honest: the far left built this monster. First, they attack Israel. Next, they attack Jews. When are Democrats going to realize that their tolerance for radical hate, for “occupied” this and “boycott” that, comes with real-world consequences? The Democratic Socialists tried to distance themselves afterwards, pretending antisemitism just popped up out of thin air at their event. Classic move—deny, deflect, and duck responsibility. But people are waking up. The radical left is out of control, and it’s poisoning American values every day. If this is what “progressive” politics looks like, how much longer before real Americans say, “enough”?
