The Pentagon just got a hard lesson in what happens when Big Tech calls the shots. Anthropic, one of the most hyped AI companies around, told defense officials they won’t hand over full access to their AI model, Claude. That’s right — a private tech firm has the nerve to deny the U.S. military, even as America faces threats from all sides. This is Silicon Valley arrogance on full display, and it’s putting national security at risk.
Now, military leaders are quietly considering using the Defense Production Act to force Anthropic to play ball. Let that sink in. Our own defense officials have to twist arms just to secure vital technology for securing the homeland. Under this administration, bureaucrats let woke tech companies dictate the nation’s priorities. These liberal tech titans are more interested in global markets, environmental activism, and virtue signaling than actually protecting the country that made their success possible.
One must ask: Why is Anthropic so nervous about the Pentagon’s request? It sounds like another example of left-wing paranoia and anti-American bias brewing in Silicon Valley. Maybe they’re scared that handing AI power to the military would upset their globalist friends or damage their image in Beijing and Brussels. Maybe they’re just too comfortable in their echo chamber to care about real-world consequences.
We’ve heard endless lectures about how AI is going to change the world — for better or worse. But when it comes to actually helping America stay strong on the world stage, the tech elite suddenly throws up roadblocks. It’s no coincidence that the same crowd trying to defund police, open the borders, and brainwash our kids in schools now want to tie the hands of our military.
Here’s a message for the bureaucrats and boardrooms cozying up in their glass towers: Enough excuses. America’s safety comes first. If the Pentagon needs AI to keep us ahead of our enemies, it’s time to get out of the way. Maybe it’s time our leaders remember who they’re supposed to serve — the American people, not a bunch of tech billionaires and their globalist pals. Does anyone really trust Silicon Valley to pick sides when things get tough?
