Things are getting ugly in Portland—again. Remember when the Left promised that their brand of “progress” would make cities better, safer, cleaner? Take a look at the nightmare unfolding downtown. This week, a news crew just tried to film in Portland’s North Park Blocks, only to be threatened with physical violence and chased off by the very people progressive politicians have let run wild.
Can you imagine? Journalists, just doing their jobs, are now targets—and the same liberals who clutch their pearls anytime President Trump calls out fake news suddenly have nothing to say. Not a word of outrage when the real threat comes from their own backyard. Where are the screams about the First Amendment now?
It gets worse. When the crew moved on to the food carts, hoping for a break, the chaos followed. Instead of a friendly gathering spot, they found more bizarre, aggressive behavior from a city in freefall. The streets are packed with mentally unstable vagrants. Crime isn’t just rising—it’s become a way of life. This isn’t some accident. Years of soft-on-crime policies and “compassionate” excuses have crippled what used to be a beautiful city.
Anyone who remembers Portland from the 90s must be shaking their heads. The city was once safe, lively, and clean. Now, it’s a warning sign of what happens when leftists have too much power. Progressive policies aren’t uplifting anyone. They’re breaking cameras, breaking spirits, and breaking America.
The broken windows, the lawlessness, the filth—all of it is by design. And every decent American should be sick of it. When will people finally admit what’s plain as day? Progressive politics destroy everything they touch. Maybe Portland’s leaders like it this way. But does anyone else?
