Every time the left has a chance to stand up for real freedom, they seem to disappear. Look at Iran. The people there have been crying out for help—demanding basic rights and a chance to live without fear under a brutal Islamic regime. Where’s all that supposed compassion from the liberals? Nowhere to be found.
When it’s time to march in our streets, liberals are always front and center. They’ll scream about America’s “systemic problems,” and chant for “equity” for every cause under the sun. But when people in Iran risk their lives to protest government tyranny, the left suddenly loses its voice. Why the silence? Is it because supporting the Iranian people doesn’t fit their woke narrative?
Liberal politicians love to virtue signal about “standing with oppressed people.” But their support always depends on whether it harms American interests or makes President Biden look bad. The left never misses a chance to tear down American values, but won’t lift a finger when it comes to standing up against real evil—especially evil that’s sponsored by Islamic dictators.
This selective outrage says a lot about whose side they’re really on. The left sees everything through the lens of anti-Americanism and globalist appeasement. They’re terrified to hold Iran accountable, probably because they fear losing their “diplomatic deals” and cozy relationships with international elites. It’s cowardly, and the Iranian people are the ones paying the price.
Conservatives know what real freedom looks like. It isn’t handed out by dictators or signed away in backroom deals. It’s fought for, every day, in the face of real danger. Maybe next time the left wants to talk about standing up for the “little guy,” they should look beyond protest signs and start supporting those brave Iranians who are risking everything for liberty. Or is defending freedom only important when it makes America look bad?
