Liberals are Destroying NYC’s Elite Schools and Your Child’s Future Might Be Next

Every year, more than 26,000 eighth graders in New York City sit on pins and needles, waiting to find out if they’ve earned a spot at one of the city’s prestigious specialized high schools. These kids have all worked their tails off, hoping that hard work and talent will actually mean something in a system built on fairness. But leave it to the liberals running City Hall and the public school system to turn opportunity into chaos and division.

Instead of celebrating achievement and rewarding the best students, the woke crowd can’t stand the idea that some kids might simply study harder and do better on the entrance test. Their answer? They want to toss the entrance exam into the trash. Of course, the very people who holler about equity ignore that destroying merit-based admissions hurts everyone—especially the kids who worked their hearts out.

Let’s not forget, these are the same liberals who love to talk about “leveling the playing field” while quietly sending their own children to exclusive private schools. Hypocrisy? Absolutely! When it comes down to it, globalist elites and their bureaucratic enablers don’t actually care about equality of opportunity. They care about imposing their radical ideas, even if it means dumbing down standards and crushing excellence.

It’s pretty simple: these specialized high schools are America’s promise in action. If you work hard, you get ahead. That’s supposed to be the dream, isn’t it? Frankly, the liberal establishment would rather punish success than fix the real problems—like the crumbling quality of K-8 public education across the city. Maybe if they focused on helping kids learn instead of playing identity politics, more students would qualify for these elite schools.

Why is merit suddenly a dirty word? Why do we let failed leftist policies dictate who gets ahead in America’s greatest city? The answer: because the people in charge are afraid of the truth. Instead of helping kids up the ladder, they’d rather pull the ladder out from under them. When will parents and students say enough is enough?
