Something rotten is happening in the heart of Chicago. Taxpayers are bleeding dry for a so-called “public school” that’s just about empty—and the few students left can barely read. This isn’t a typo or some accounting mistake. One school in the Windy City is running at only 8% capacity. That means 92% of the classrooms sit collecting dust. It gets worse. Every year, bureaucrats are pouring $93,000 into each student at this ghost town of a school. That’s not a school budget—that’s a luxury SUV per kid, every single year!
And for what? Are these students getting the best education America can offer? Not even close. The tragic reality: most of the handful of kids who show up can’t read proficiently. You read that right—after all the millions shoveled into this so-called “learning center,” basic literacy is still out of reach for most. How’s that for a return on investment? This is liberal leadership in action—wasteful spending, empty promises, and failing our kids.
Democrat-run cities love to talk about “investing in our future.” But here’s the hard truth: all this money vanishes into a black hole of government waste and administrative bloat. Money for administrators, useless consultants, and bloated salaries… yet the actual kids get left behind. Chicago’s union bosses keep cashing their paychecks, crocodile tears streaming every budget season, but where are the results? When left-wing politicians and their globalist pals run the show, it’s never about helping children—it’s about grabbing power and dollars.
The hypocrisy is stunning. Liberals claim to care about “equity” and say schools just need more funding, but when the cash rivers flow, nothing actually changes for the students who need it most. Meanwhile, parents who dare to question this disaster are brushed off, and anyone who suggests real reform is called radical. Only in Democrat strongholds can a school spend more money per student than most Ivy League colleges—while failing to teach them to read!
Americans deserve better than this joke. It’s time to demand accountability and rip the mask off the education mafia running city schools into the ground. If this is the “progress” big government brings, who wants any part of it? Maybe the folks in charge should try passing a reading test themselves—clearly, they’re too busy counting taxpayer cash.
