The establishment just can’t help themselves. The swamp’s insiders are so desperate to keep a tight grip on power, they’re now attacking everyday Texans for having the nerve to vote for someone outside their club. Take Alex Latcham—John Thune’s top ally and executive director of the deep-pocketed Senate Leadership Fund. When Texans turned out in droves to support Rep. Wesley Hunt in the GOP primary, did Latcham respect their choice? Of course not. He swung a cheap shot at hundreds of thousands of honest voters, as if Washington knows better than Texas.
This is exactly what’s wrong with the out-of-touch Republican establishment. Rather than celebrating a grassroots movement, they try to bulldoze it. The elites would rather cozy up to cronies like John Cornyn and circle the wagons around the status quo. Heaven forbid actual conservatives get a say. The arrogance is stunning—almost as bad as what we see from the far-left.
The anti-Hunt attack isn’t just an attack on one candidate. It’s an insult to regular Americans who are tired of being ignored. These are ranchers, small business owners, moms and dads—people who want strong borders, real national security, and politicians who put America first. But to the establishment money men, these folks are just numbers to be managed. No wonder people are sick and tired of politics as usual.
And let’s not forget: this kind of behavior hands liberals exactly what they want. When Republicans act like Democrats—smearing their own voters, playing power games, and stomping on dissent—all it does is help the left’s globalist, anti-American agenda march even further. The establishment’s sneering contempt for regular patriots looks an awful lot like the snobbery coming out of D.C. and Silicon Valley.
The only way to change this country is to push back hard—against the left and against Republicans who act like them. Texans are sending a message: the days of bowing to the ruling class are over. Will the party stand with the people, or just keep taking orders from Washington? The next election will tell that story loud and clear.
