Another vicious attack on American law enforcement—this time, from an illegal immigrant emboldened by open border chaos. In Oklahoma City, a Honduran national, Jose Melgar-Rivas, has finally been sentenced to over six years in prison after dragging an ICE officer down the street with his car. The officer wasn’t just shaken—it left him with serious, life-changing injuries. This all happened because Melgar-Rivas refused lawful orders, turned a traffic stop into a violent confrontation, and used his vehicle as a weapon.
This isn’t an isolated incident. It’s the deadly byproduct of failed leftist border policies that put the rights of criminals ahead of American lives. Liberal politicians and their activist allies are always lecturing us about “compassion” for illegal immigrants, but where is the compassion for the brave men and women in law enforcement who risk their lives every day? Their safety gets sacrificed at the altar of globalist fantasies and open border schemes.
After pleading guilty, Melgar-Rivas received a well-deserved sentence—78 months in federal prison. Justice was finally served, but only after an officer paid the price for weak immigration enforcement and political correctness run amok. Melgar-Rivas will now be deported after serving his time, but it’s too little, too late for the injured officer and his family. Americans deserve to feel safe without wondering if the next traffic stop will turn into a life-or-death struggle with a foreign criminal.
Federal officials and law enforcement have spoken loud and clear: attacking those who protect our streets will not be tolerated. But why should they have to keep fighting this ugly war at home, all because Washington refuses to do its job securing the border? Operation Take Back America promises to put a stop to this madness, yet conservatives know the solution is simple—stop the flow of illegal immigrants, eliminate the criminal gangs, and put American citizens first.
How many more officers have to be hurt before the left admits their reckless policies have failed? Maybe it’s time for the open border crowd to spend a night riding along with ICE. Or would that be too much reality for them to handle?
