$360 Million Vanished—Thanks to Liberal Negligence in SNAP Security
Here we go again. The government, run for years by soft-on-crime liberals and clueless bureaucrats, can’t even keep basic benefits safe. Over $360 million—yes, *million*—has disappeared from the food stamp program, ripped right out from under hard-working Americans and handed straight to criminals. And why? Because the federal government is asleep at the wheel while states pass out outdated, easy-to-hack cards that should’ve been replaced with modern technology years ago.
Private banks took the obvious step back in 2015 and upgraded everyone’s credit and debit cards with secure chips. It’s not rocket science. That technology protects Americans’ personal savings every single day. But here’s the catch—government-run programs like SNAP couldn’t be bothered. Instead, they left millions of families with ancient, magnetic stripe cards, wide open for every scammer and fraudster out there. And they still act shocked when criminals set up card skimmers in every gas station and grocery store, wiping out money meant to put food on the table.
The numbers are jaw-dropping. Hundreds of millions gone since 2023, with no end in sight. And what do liberals do? Throw together a “bipartisan” bill with lots of warm fuzzies, pat themselves on the back, and act like they’re heroes fixing a mess they created. They brag about bringing in chip-enabled cards and new security rules, but let’s be real—this is the absolute bare minimum. Real leaders wouldn’t have let it happen in the first place.
Worse, even the feds’ own watchdogs say the problem is going to explode unless real action happens now. If states don’t upgrade, fraud could hit $555 million. That’s more than half a billion dollars, gone because liberal bureaucrats can’t keep up with technology that Walmart already figured out a decade ago. Where’s the accountability? Why are hard-working Americans footing the bill for this incompetence?
Of course, the swamp in Washington loves to talk about “protecting the vulnerable,” but they can’t protect anything—not even taxpayer cash. SNAP was created to help families in need, not to bankroll organized crime. While globalists and their allies in big government sit on their hands, everyday Americans pay the price. It shouldn’t take years of theft for the government to notice. If the private sector can secure your coffee shop debit card, maybe the politicians can manage to protect benefits from being plundered.
So here we are: another “solution” to a problem that never should have happened. Maybe the only thing government is good at is wasting our money—fast. How much more will Americans lose before the people in charge get the message?
