Chaos has officially replaced sportsmanship on our college basketball courts. Just look at what happened in Florida this week—what was supposed to be a women’s basketball game turned into an all-out street fight. Players weren’t just tossing the ball; they were throwing punches. It got so bad that even the referee took a hit and was knocked out cold. Is this what passes for “higher education” these days?
Let’s not pretend this is some isolated incident. This is what happens when our culture spits on discipline, personal responsibility, and respect for authority. Players don’t fear consequences anymore. Why should they? Leftist administrators are so terrified of offending anyone that they let anything go. This brawl ended with ejections and suspensions, but you know the colleges will sweep the embarrassment under the rug as fast as possible. Heaven forbid someone actually learns a lesson.
This isn’t just about basketball—it’s about America’s moral decline. Our institutions used to stand for something. Now, they’re breeding grounds for violence and entitlement. Everyone’s a victim, everyone’s “owed” something, and no one is accountable. Who pays the price? In this case, a referee doing his job got sent to the floor. Next time, it could be worse.
Meanwhile, the media barely bats an eye when violence erupts at women’s games. If this happened at a Trump rally, we’d never hear the end of it. But because this took place under the watchful (blind) eyes of progressive university leaders, no one dares call out the obvious. They don’t want to admit their own policies are fueling the chaos. This is what you get when you kneel to woke mobs and ignore the basic rules of civil society.
So here’s the real question: how many more refs have to get knocked out before someone calls this lawless culture what it is? Americans deserve better—from our athletes, our colleges, and our so-called leaders. If they won’t restore order, maybe they shouldn’t be in charge at all.
