Kamala Harris just reminded America, once again, who always pays the price for liberal privilege—the taxpayers. While working families shoulder crushing inflation and can’t afford a summer vacation, Harris is off on a glitzy book tour. And, surprise: it’s not her picking up the tab for her elite lifestyle. It’s hardworking Californians.
Reports show that while Harris promotes her latest book, she has California Highway Patrol officers following her around, playing bodyguard. That may sound like no big deal—until you remember Harris doesn’t live or work for California anymore. She hangs out in Washington, D.C., calling herself the Vice President. Yet, somehow, she still thinks California belongs in her back pocket, especially when she needs a security detail. Somebody needs to explain how a promotional book tour became the responsibility of California’s taxpayers.
This is exactly the kind of double standard Americans are sick of. Regular folks are told to pinch every penny, follow every rule, and watch their taxes crawl higher every year. Meanwhile, Democrats like Harris treat the public treasury like their own personal ATM. They talk about equity and fairness, but apparently, that only applies when it’s convenient for their cronies.
And let’s not ignore how silent the mainstream media gets whenever liberal politicians abuse taxpayer money for personal gain. If a conservative did one-tenth of this, the headlines would scream for weeks. But when it’s Kamala Harris, suddenly, it’s just business as usual. This is government for the elites, by the elites, and nobody even bothers to hide it anymore.
Why should everyday Californians foot the bill for Kamala Harris to push her personal agenda and pad her book sales? The arrogance is blatant, the hypocrisy is off the charts. Maybe next time she wants to sell books, she can try paying for her own security—like Americans do every time we step out into the chaos her party helped create.
