Democrats just can’t help themselves when it comes to pandering, even if it means inviting trouble right into the heart of Washington. Rep. Seth Moulton must have thought he was being clever when he proudly brought an illegal immigrant as his special guest to the State of the Union. It was all a big show for the cameras—a chance to slam President Trump and claim some kind of moral high ground. But now the truth is out, and Moulton’s stunt has spectacularly backfired.
The man he chose to spotlight, Marcelo Gomes da Silva, was supposed to be a shining example of the Democrats’ supposed “immigration tragedy.” Instead, he’s been exposed as a suspect in an assault case. So much for the left’s “model immigrant.” Once again, liberal politicians are so desperate to prop up their open borders agenda that they ignore facts, safety, and common sense. Their virtue-signaling knows no bounds, and it’s American citizens who end up paying the price.
This is what happens when liberals care more about their next headline than the security of the country they claim to serve. Rather than supporting law-abiding Americans, they give center stage to someone who should have never been in the country to begin with. All in the name of feeling good about themselves. The left will bend over backwards to justify illegal immigration, but when the spotlight fades and real consequences appear, it’s always someone else’s fault.
Just imagine if a conservative had made this kind of mistake. The media would have wall-to-wall coverage. But when a Democrat’s publicity stunt blows up, you hear crickets. This is liberal hypocrisy at its finest—telling Americans to sit down and be quiet while they gamble with our security, just to score a few political points.
At the end of the day, the left’s obsession with open borders isn’t just foolish—it’s dangerous. Moulton tried to make a hero out of someone who isn’t even supposed to be here. Will Democrats ever put Americans ahead of their globalist fantasies? Or will they keep rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigrants, no matter the cost?
