America’s government loves to talk about efficiency. But look at the disaster happening right now with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Instead of actually defending our borders or putting America first, they’re floundering over something as basic as giving back tariff money that never should have been collected in the first place. Yes, that’s right—thanks to another Supreme Court ruling, CBP is supposed to issue refunds for canceled tariffs, but apparently this is a task far too complicated for Washington bureaucrats.
This whole mess exposes just how broken our system really is. While hardworking Americans are expected to follow every little detail of federal law or face steep penalties, government agencies always seem to get a free pass for their own failures. When power is in the hands of liberal elites and globalist interests, enforcement is strict on the people—but laughable for themselves. CBP can’t even keep up with court orders because the bureaucracy is tangled in red tape, slow computers, and ridiculous procedures. That’s what happens when you let the left run the show—inefficiency, excuses, and endless delays.
Let’s be real. Importers and businesses are only asking for money that the government itself admits it shouldn’t have taken. If the cash was owed to the IRS, you can bet they’d have ways to collect it in a heartbeat. But flip the script, and suddenly it’s “too complicated” to pay people back. It’s just more proof that the deep state would rather keep what’s not theirs than do right by American families and companies. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they whine about how hard it is to correct them.
The so-called “new system” CBP is floating isn’t a plan to fix things for the American people. It’s cover for their own ineptitude—a way to delay justice while pretending they care about doing the job right. Only in Biden’s America do government workers find refunding money so hard, but giving out billions in foreign aid so easy. If this is how they handle basic refunds, imagine how badly they’re botching the real business of running a country.
Is it any wonder faith in our government is crumbling? If they can’t manage the small stuff, how can we trust them with anything bigger? Maybe it’s time for DC to stop making excuses and actually put America first—for once.
