The Supreme Court just gave the Trump movement—and America—a huge boost in the fight for sane immigration policy. On Wednesday, all nine justices agreed that our courts need to stop playing games with our asylum laws. No more activists in black robes trying to rewrite immigration rules from the bench. Instead, federal appeals courts will have to respect the decisions of the actual experts: the Board of Immigration Appeals. This is a much-needed slap in the face to open borders radicals who think the rule of law is just an inconvenience.
For years, left-wing judges have twisted asylum rules to let in almost anyone who showed up at our border with a sad story. They’d overturn decisions and declare that nearly any claim of hardship or discomfort by foreign nationals was good enough for asylum. No wonder our system was totally abused, and American towns suffered the consequences. That ends now.
With this ruling, courts can only throw out the Board’s decisions on asylum when the evidence is so overwhelming that any reasonable person would agree. In other words, no more sneaking in under the guise of “fear.” This closes the door on bogus asylum claims that used to clog the system, burned through taxpayer dollars, and let in people who had no intention of respecting our laws or culture. Finally, some common sense.
What’s incredible is that the unanimous vote included even the liberal justices. It’s basically an admission that the way Democrats and their activist buddies have handled asylum is indefensible. The left constantly acts outraged whenever President Trump enforces the law, but now even their own people can’t deny he was right on this one. Their radical, globalist agenda—turning America into a magnet for the world’s problems—just hit a brick wall.
Americans are sick and tired of watching our borders flood with people claiming persecution without proof, all while politicians lecture us about “compassion” from their gated homes. Justice has finally caught up with the chaos. Maybe now, the elites in D.C. will start caring a little less about foreign lawbreakers and a little more about the citizens they swore to protect. Does anyone seriously believe the American people want open borders, endless excuses, and zero accountability?
