Congress Sells Out America’s Kids to Big Tech Again While Parents Are Left Defenseless Online

Congress has had years to get its act together when it comes to protecting America’s kids online. But once again, our so-called leaders fumble at the finish line. While the left talks a big game about “safety” and “the children,” when it comes time to pass real laws that would actually make a difference, they stall, bicker, and let tech giants call the shots. Parents are left picking up the pieces after endless promises from D.C.

The truth is, the internet has become a wild, lawless place for kids. Big Tech makes billions selling out our children’s privacy. Liberals in Congress are too busy appeasing their big donors at Silicon Valley cocktail parties to lift a finger. Instead of standing up for families, they let radical activists turn online spaces into dangerous playgrounds for predators, bullies, and foreign interests.

Now, there’s finally a chance to update an old privacy law meant to protect kids online. It’s about time, but don’t expect any cheering from the usual crowd of leftist lawmakers. While most other online safety bills have gotten bogged down—stuck in endless political theater—this one just might get across the finish line. Why? Because enough Americans are paying attention. We’ve seen the costs of liberal apathy. Our kids are suffering mental health crises, getting addicted to screens, and being exposed to garbage before they’ve even hit puberty.

Democrats love to wrap themselves in slogans about “the next generation,” but when the cameras are off, they drag their feet. Conservative voices have been demanding action for years, but are treated like villains for wanting to set boundaries and hold tech companies accountable. The left’s hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious: they claim to care about kids, but when the tech lobby whispers, they jump.

If Congress really cared about our children, they’d put America’s families first—before big business, before woke activists, before the globalist elite. Will they do it, or will we get more empty words? Maybe if liberals remembered who they actually work for, we wouldn’t be having this debate in 2024. Our kids deserve better than this pathetic excuse for “leadership.”

Who’s side is Congress really on—the parents fighting for their kids, or the billionaires buying their silence?
