Los Angeles is finally saying goodbye to Janisse Quiñones, the now-former CEO of the city’s powerful Department of Water and Power. And honestly, it’s about time. For far too long, she seemed more interested in playing politics than actually doing her job. Californians expect results—not empty promises—and under her watch, those were in short supply.
This is what happens when liberals run the show. They talk about saving the planet and fighting climate change while the city’s own basic infrastructure falls apart. Somehow, everything gets blamed on “global challenges” instead of their own awful decisions. Power outages? Skyrocketing bills? They pretend it’s all some mystery, when everyone knows who’s in charge. Just look at LADWP: under Quiñones, customers suffered, while politicians got to spout off about “green energy” plans that never actually work in the real world.
It’s the same old story: big talk, zero accountability. When people needed reliable power and water, what did they get? Bureaucratic excuses and endless delays. Instead of standing up for working families and businesses, Quiñones was just another suit for the left’s pet projects. LADWP wasn’t serving the people of Los Angeles—it was serving the latest fads from liberal elites and their globalist pals.
Now she’s gone, and not a moment too soon. Maybe now someone with some common sense and American values can step in. Someone who actually believes in keeping the lights on, not just pushing the latest environmental craze cooked up in some university boardroom. LA deserves better than this parade of failed leadership and hollow promises.
Quiñones’ exit is a win for the hardworking men and women of Los Angeles. Maybe our city leaders will finally wake up and put people first for once. Or will they just hand over the keys to yet another out-of-touch liberal with dreams of turning Los Angeles into their personal political laboratory? Time will tell—but LA’s patience is running out.
