Iran is playing its same old game. The mullahs attack, then suddenly act like peacemakers when it suits them. Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, is now claiming he wants de-escalation with the Gulf states. He offers what he calls an “apology” after recent strikes. But don’t be fooled. This is no olive branch; it’s a warning dressed up as diplomacy.
Let’s be clear. Iran isn’t promising peace—it’s issuing threats. Pezeshkian’s message is simple: as long as those neighboring countries don’t step out of line, Iran will hold its fire. If they so much as sneeze the wrong way, Tehran reserves the right to strike again. That’s not restraint. That’s bullying, and the world should call it what it is.
But liberals and globalists trip over themselves to praise this so-called “restraint.” They act like Iran is doing the region a huge favor by not attacking—never mind that Iran started this dangerous game in the first place. This is the problem with the left’s foreign policy. They welcome empty gestures and forget who the real aggressor is.
American leadership used to mean drawing lines and standing firm. Now, we see wishful thinking from the usual Beltway elites. They are more concerned with appeasing tyrants than protecting our allies or our own security. It’s no wonder Iran feels comfortable making demands. Who’s going to stop them? Certainly not the weak-kneed bureaucrats in Washington.
Iran only understands strength, not sweet talk. Pezeshkian’s fakery fools the progressive press, but anyone paying attention knows the truth. Why does our country keep letting thugs set the rules? Maybe because liberal leaders are more interested in virtue signals than reality. How long before Tehran’s “apology” turns back into bombs?
