Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, a proud card-carrying member of the blue-state club, is now demanding—yes, demanding—that the Department of Homeland Security hand over troves of information on illegal immigrants being arrested by ICE right in her backyard. You can almost picture her furrowing her brow, penning a letter full of outrage, as if federal law enforcement is somehow answerable to her every whim.
This is the same Governor Healey who turns a blind eye to every sanctuary city disaster in her state. She’s watched as Democrat policies have attracted floods of illegal aliens to Massachusetts, all while promising them handouts and special privileges. Now, she’s upset because ICE is actually doing its job? The irony would be laughable if it wasn’t so infuriating.
Let’s face it: Democrats like Healey want it both ways. They block ICE at every turn, shield criminal aliens from deportation, and fight to keep their state wide open for anyone willing to cross the border illegally. But the second reality knocks on their doorstep—suddenly, they demand answers and accountability. It’s nothing but political theater for the liberal donor class.
When the Department of Homeland Security brushed off Healey’s order, it was a refreshing moment of common sense in an age of progressive chaos. Why should federal officers obey the same politicians who tie their hands and demonize their mission? Why should ICE share lists and files with officials who do everything possible to undermine the rule of law? It’s a ridiculous expectation, and everyone knows it.

Maybe next time, Governor Healey should focus less on protecting lawbreakers and more on listening to the voters who are sick and tired of this double standard.
