Something strange is happening in America. Suddenly, finishing a marathon doesn’t mean actually running 26.2 miles. You don’t even have to break a sweat. Apparently, all you have to do is “identify” as a marathon finisher and—like woke magic—a medal is yours.
This is what happens when liberal nonsense takes over our country. The hardest challenges used to mean something. Marathons were about pushing the limits, not about handing out feel-good trophies to every quitter with an excuse. But the left’s obsession with feelings over facts has even reached our races. Run a few miles, drop out, and you still get the medal. Because, why not? Nobody’s allowed to lose anymore.
This is globalist thinking at its worst. Treat everyone the same, no matter how much effort they put in. Forget about American grit. Forget about competition. Liberals want to turn every accomplishment into a participation prize. It makes the real winners invisible. What’s next? Olympic medals for anyone who just laces up their sneakers?
Handing out marathon medals to quitters is an insult to those who actually finish what they start. It spits in the face of personal responsibility. Only in a society drunk on political correctness would we pretend quitting counts as victory. But that’s the left’s message—never push, never strive, just pat yourself on the back and demand equal rewards.
Americans used to respect hard work and discipline. Now, the left is teaching everyone to take shortcuts and lie about it. When everyone’s a winner, no one is. Is this the kind of country we want to leave our children—a nation where medals are cheaper than truth? Maybe it’s time the “quitters” learned the real meaning of earning something.
