The radical Left keeps proving its own insanity right on America’s streets. Over the weekend in New York, a leftist protester was screaming about how “everyone” deserves to stay in the city. Not a minute later, an ISIS sympathizer tried to blow up a conservative Senate candidate with a homemade bomb at a protest. If that doesn’t sum up the twisted logic of today’s progressives, what does?
One moment, left-wing agitators are shouting about tolerance and open borders. The next, jihadists are lobbing explosive devices at their political opponents. But you won’t hear any real outrage from Democrat leaders. Instead of calling out Islamic terrorism for what it is, the mayor of New York focused on blaming the conservative Senate candidate, smearing him as a “white supremacist” and blaming “hate.” Apparently, calling out radical Islam is now considered more dangerous than a live bomb on Fifth Avenue.
These are the priorities of the modern Left—defend open borders, embrace criminals, and shame anyone who actually wants to keep America safe. When actual jihadi thugs toss IEDs in broad daylight, the City just shrugs, thanks the police, and gets back to virtue-signaling. No mention of the real roots of the problem. No honest reckoning with the imported dangers that come in with waves of unvetted migration and a refusal to confront radical ideologies. Just more empty sloganeering about tolerance while New York teeters on the edge.
The mayor couldn’t even bring himself to admit that Islamic terrorism was the motive. Forget the fact that the attacker flashed the ISIS salute as he was dragged away in cuffs. That ugly reality doesn’t fit the narrative they’re selling. Instead, it’s conservatives and patriots getting labeled as the enemy because they dare to speak up about the obvious threat brewing right under the noses of Democrat officials.
This is the America the Left wants: law-abiding citizens silenced, actual terrorists coddled, and common sense replaced by dangerous delusions. How much longer are Americans supposed to put up with leaders who’d rather protect their political image than their own constituents? At this rate, we’re going to find out the hard way.
