There’s no greater sign of a nation’s moral decay than the way it treats its most innocent citizens. So it’s no wonder that the far-left in Oregon has hit a new low. Their lawmakers just shot down a bill designed to require medical care for infants who survive failed abortions. Let that sink in—American babies, born alive, left at the mercy of people who think convenience is more important than life.
This isn’t healthcare. It’s cruelty, pure and simple. Democrats like to act like they’re the champions of the vulnerable, but when it comes to the life of a newborn struggling to breathe, they look the other way. You’d think giving a helpless baby a fighting chance would be common sense, but the left’s twisted obsession with abortion goes far beyond “choice.” Now, they’re refusing to protect newborns, just to keep up with the demands of their radical base.
It’s not just incompetence—it’s hypocrisy. Liberals scream about “human rights” any time it suits their narrative, but suddenly their compassion disappears when it comes to infants born alive after failed abortions. They’re happy to send billions overseas for so-called humanitarian efforts, yet they can’t be bothered to ensure a doctor tries to save a living American baby. That isn’t progress. That’s barbaric.
Globalist and elite interests have convinced the left that real compassion is outdated. Instead, they push for policies that devalue American life at every turn. Meanwhile, families who believe in the sanctity of life are ridiculed and ignored. Oregon’s Democrats could have sent a strong message that life matters, no matter how inconvenient it is for their donors or activist groups. Instead, they proved once again how out-of-touch and heartless liberal ideology has become.
How much lower will the left stoop before Americans say enough is enough? If the left can’t even agree that a living, breathing newborn deserves a chance to survive, what does that say about their so-called values?
