It was yet another circus on Capitol Hill as a Democrat lawmaker decided to put on a show instead of doing his job. When the House Homeland Security subcommittee tried to have a real discussion about the dangers of letting non-citizens drive eighteen-wheelers across America, Rep. Shri Thanedar—from the liberal stronghold of Michigan—couldn’t help himself. Instead of addressing the risks to American families, he used his time to launch a smear campaign against Donald Trump. Apparently, blaming Trump for everything under the sun is still the Democrats’ only plan.
The hearing was meant to examine the very real threats that come with handing out commercial driver’s licenses to people who aren’t even citizens. Let’s be honest: Americans have a right to know who’s behind the wheel of the trucks barreling down our highways. At a time when the southern border is in chaos and Americans are getting hurt, liberals like Thanedar want to distract from the truth.
Rather than taking responsibility or even acknowledging the public safety crisis their open-borders agenda has unleashed, these Democrats try to change the subject. According to them, any concern about who is on our roads is just “political theater” from Republicans. Tell that to the families whose lives are on the line because the left refuses to protect our borders. Instead of dealing with real issues, Democrats waste time playing the blame game and sticking their heads in the sand.
This is exactly what you get from a party obsessed with globalist talking points and more interested in scoring points against Trump than protecting American citizens. When pressed to offer solutions, the left gets flustered and lashes out—because deep down, they know their priorities are upside down. Why does a debate about immigration and public safety always send liberals into meltdown mode? Maybe it’s because they know their policies are putting Americans last.
If Democrats cared even a little about your safety, they’d stop the grandstanding and start defending our borders. But they won’t. Instead, they point fingers, dodge responsibility, and try to silence anyone who raises concerns. The real question is simple: How many innocent Americans have to suffer before the left wakes up and puts their own country first?
