The American government needs a real backbone when it comes to hostile regimes, and Marco Rubio is finally showing what leadership should look like. As Secretary of State, Rubio didn’t pull any punches during the State Department’s recent ceremony for hostages and detainees. He called out the brutal Iranian regime for exactly what it is: the world’s worst hostage-taker and the planet’s number one sponsor of terrorism.
For far too long, weak liberal leaders have tiptoed around the truth, pretending that we can negotiate with Iran like it’s some misunderstood neighbor. While globalist elites push for more “dialogue,” Iran snatches innocent Americans and uses them as bargaining chips. It’s a twisted game—and one the Biden-era crowd was all too willing to play. Trading millions of dollars, lifting sanctions, and getting nothing but more hostilities in return? That’s not diplomacy. That’s surrender.
Rubio’s stance should be a wake-up call for the left, who love photo-ops and hashtag campaigns but refuse to take real action against evil. While families are torn apart by Iran’s hostage-taking, the DC swamp is more concerned with appeasing the United Nations and pleasing woke allies. Too many in Washington would rather lecture Americans on pronouns than stand up to the bullies in Tehran.
What happened to putting America first? Hostage diplomacy is a disgrace, and every time a U.S. official bows to Iranian demands, it puts another citizen at risk. Iran knows the West is soft, and that’s exactly why they do it. If the left had even a fraction of Rubio’s courage, maybe our enemies would finally think twice before targeting Americans.
Rubio made it clear: you don’t end terrorism by coddling terrorists. Ask yourself this—when will the left admit that their weakness invites disaster? It’s about time someone in Washington called out the farce and stood firmly for American lives, not globalist fantasy. If only the rest of our so-called leaders had that kind of resolve.
