Los Angeles International Airport is the poster child for liberal incompetence. LAX has always been a disaster — filthy terminals, endless traffic, nobody ever seems to know what’s going on. Now, local leaders have added a new layer to the mess: the so-called “Automated People Mover” is delayed yet again. Only in leftist California can a people-moving sidewalk turn into a multi-billion dollar embarrassment.
This project was hyped as a modern fix to LAX’s chaos. Taxpayers were told it would be quick, efficient, and transformative. Instead, what they got is more union bureaucracy, more missed deadlines, and more excuses. Is anyone surprised? Liberal politics always means wasting money and getting less in return. While the elites push their “global city” message, ordinary Americans are stuck circling the airport, wasting hours of their lives.
The saddest part is that nobody gets held accountable. Bureaucrats shrug and blame “unforeseen circumstances.” Politicians point fingers and come up with new ways to ask for money. It’s always someone else’s fault, never the fault of the big-wig decision makers who promised shiny new infrastructure and delivered headaches instead. It’s the same story with every major project liberals touch.
Meanwhile, these delays hurt real people. Families miss flights. Workers sit in traffic jams. Tourists leave with a bad taste, all while local officials pat themselves on the back for “investing in the future.” Where is the outrage? Where is the basic competence that made America great? Our country once built the world’s best airports. Now, we can’t even manage a glorified tram.
It’s time for Los Angeles to stop talking about “progress” and start delivering results. If America’s second biggest city can’t finish an airport train on time, what does that say about our leadership? Maybe it’s time to scrap the feel-good committees and start holding people’s feet to the fire. Or is delayed, dysfunctional government just the new liberal “innovation”?
