Yamaha ditches California after 50 years blaming Newsom as business exodus worsens

It finally happened—Yamaha is packing its bags and running from California, after half a century in the Golden State. That’s right, the makers of world-famous motorcycles and musical gear have had enough of Gavin Newsom’s broken paradise. After fifty years, they’re saying “adios” and heading for greener pastures in Georgia. Can anyone blame them?

Let’s not pretend this is a shock. California is hemorrhaging businesses faster than you can say “Democrat supermajority.” Taxes are sky-high, crime is everywhere, and Sacramento politicians treat anyone with a balance sheet like the enemy. While Newsom parades himself on late-night TV, major employers like Tesla, Oracle, Chevron, SpaceX, and now Yamaha are all beating a path for the exit. It almost makes you wonder if the state government is driving them out on purpose.

Yamaha says its shift is about efficiency and cutting costs. Just look around—those infamous “structural reforms” they’re talking about are a direct reaction to spiraling prices and a business climate that rewards failure with loyalty to the party. Companies don’t stay loyal to a state that bleeds them dry and forces them to navigate a minefield of regulations and social experiments gone wild. California has become so toxic for job creators that even an iconic Japanese brand can’t make the numbers work anymore.

Imagine the arrogance of the Democrats running California. They won’t lift a finger to fix the mess. They’d rather watch entire industries flee than address their own disastrous policies. Instead, they pump out excuses, blaming Trump tariffs or the global economy—anything but their own anti-business madness. Don’t be fooled. For every company with a bold CEO taking the headlines, there are hundreds of small businesses quietly folding, laying off workers, and leaving neighborhoods hollow.

But go ahead, Democrats, make Newsom your next standard-bearer. The man can’t even keep major employers from jumping ship, yet he wants a promotion? If California keeps on this path, the last Californian left won’t need a U-Haul—they’ll just flip the lights off and lock up on the way out.
