It’s about time someone in the NBA finally woke up. How bad does a team have to get before it stoops to desperate, ridiculous stunts just to sell a few more tickets? Clearly, some teams have no shame — but thankfully, this week, the league itself said enough is enough.
Apparently, things got so out of hand that higher-ups had to step in and cancel a team’s idea for a downright disgraceful promotional event. It was so inappropriate that real sports fans, families, and community members all raised their voices in outrage. Who could blame them? Instead of actual basketball, they were almost served another tasteless show — all in the name of woke “entertainment.”
This is what happens when the left and the corporate sports world get cozy. The priorities shift away from excellence on the court and start catering to nonsense off it. These teams will bend over backwards to please the loudest activists or whoever flashes cash, but forget the loyal Americans who buy the tickets and jerseys. The result is always some ridiculous “promotion” that offends everyone except the handful of social justice warriors who already hate sports anyway.
It shouldn’t take a tidal wave of complaints to put a stop to this. Have these league executives forgotten why people love sports in the first place? Families go to watch competition, not to have liberal political messages shoved down their throats. American values are being trampled by globalist interests and out-of-touch elites who think they can experiment with arenas like it’s their private playground.
Why must the NBA wait for a full-blown PR disaster before showing a shred of backbone? Maybe it’s time these teams quit pandering to the leftist mob and remembered they’re in the business of playing basketball—not pushing social experiments. If they can’t manage that, should we even bother watching at all?
