The liberal media just can’t help themselves, can they? This latest debacle proves it yet again. When an IED went off right outside Gracie Mansion in the heart of New York City, you’d expect the media elite to deliver hard facts and ask real questions. Instead, the so-called “experts” at one cable news network managed to botch the story so badly, they had to rip the whole thing down and pretend it never happened. But the American people aren’t stupid. Internet sleuths grabbed the receipts, and now the truth is taking a victory lap online.
What makes their fumbling so predictable? Just glance at the update about the reporter involved and it all clicks into place. These days, it seems every mainstream news outlet is more obsessed with woke pronoun games than with actual journalism. They’ll bend over backwards for progressive agendas, but when an explosive device rocks one of the world’s biggest cities, suddenly they’re tripping over their own feet and scrambling for damage control. That’s not “objective reporting”—that’s embarrassing.
Let’s be honest: if the conservative media had made such a mess, there’d be wall-to-wall coverage, Twitter mobs, and endless lectures about “disinformation.” But when the left screws up, the memory hole opens up faster than you can say “fact-check.” Their editorial “surgery” wasn’t about accuracy. It was about covering up another moment of liberal incompetence. No wonder trust in the media is at an all-time low.
And what about their PR statement? Instead of owning up and setting the record straight, they lobbed out a pathetic excuse. It landed with a thud and only fueled the well-deserved mockery burning through social media. Americans see right through it. When the story is inconvenient for the left, the narrative gets scrubbed, the facts get blurred, and the public gets gaslit.
Is anyone surprised? As long as the far-left rules the newsroom, real journalism takes a backseat to woke word games and virtue signaling. Maybe someone at the network should spend less time obsessing over pronouns and more time chasing facts. But then again, chasing the truth has never been their specialty.
