For years, Democrats have fought tooth and nail against even the most basic safeguards to protect the integrity of American elections. Now, Senate Majority Leader John Thune is forcing their hand, bringing the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor. This bill is simple: it says only American citizens get to vote in American elections. Yet somehow, the left and their globalist allies act like this is some radical idea.
Let’s be blunt. The Democrats desperately hope to keep the system open for abuse. They don’t want to talk about voter ID because they know it’s a losing issue for them. Polls show that even their own voters support voter ID laws. Why? Because normal Americans know it’s just common sense. If you need an ID to buy a beer, rent a car, or pick up tickets to a ballgame, of course you should show one to vote. The only people against this are those who benefit from chaos and loopholes.
It gets worse. Some Republican senators—yes, even a handful on our own side—are reportedly blocking any real action on this bill. At a time when both parties should be united for election security, these weak-kneed politicians would rather clutch their pearls than take a stand for our country. President Trump has called them out, and he’s right to do so. Voters are tired of gutless Republicans who back down whenever the media starts to whine.
Let’s not forget: the left will do anything to avoid scrutiny. When forced to actually vote on protecting the ballot box, Democrat politicians reveal their true colors. They’ll tell you that voter ID is “racist” or “unfair”—but that’s just code for “We want non-citizens and fraudsters to decide your future.” Democrats would rather pander to illegal immigrants and foreign interests than defend the integrity of American democracy.
The truth is simple: any politician who refuses to say that only Americans can vote has no place in Congress. The American people are watching. They know who wants secure elections and who wants a permanent underclass of imported voters. The question for Democrats is clear—do you stand with citizens or with cheaters?
