It’s amazing what sends the Left into a meltdown these days. The latest outrage? American troops getting treated to steak and lobster. Millions of dollars spent making sure our soldiers have a hot, delicious meal. Liberals are losing their minds. Funny how folks like Gavin Newsom suddenly care about government waste, comparing this to massive fraud in Democrat-run cities. Suddenly, it’s okay to point out real criminal abuse of taxpayer money—when it’s convenient for them.
Let’s be honest. There’s a world of difference between feeding those who protect our freedoms and dumping cash into the pockets of bureaucrats and criminals. If the Left, with their constant virtue signaling, actually cared about the American people, they’d be applauding steak dinners for our troops. These men and women risk their lives for our country. Do Democrats really believe they should be fed mystery-meat slop? Ridiculous. The numbers just don’t add up to a real scandal, either. There are over two million troops. A few good meals won’t even make a dent in the national debt, especially next to the billions lost to fraud or “equity” programs.
Of course, the Left wants to have it both ways. Not long ago, they slammed the Trump administration for supposed poor food quality overseas. One week, the meals are too cheap. The next week, a steak is too extravagant. Liberals wring their hands about “waste” while happily signing off on bloated foreign aid and endless entitlement programs. Where’s their self-righteous outrage when billions vanish into the pockets of fraudsters or to pay the salaries of partisan judges hell-bent on undermining our Constitution?
That’s the real story: the Left has never cared about spending—unless they can weaponize it. They scream about luxury when it’s food for patriots in uniform, but they’ll never blink at government handouts for illegal immigrants or endless bureaucracy. The priorities are clear: they’d rather see a judge trying to take down America’s founding principles get paid before a single soldier enjoys a taste of steak.
Americans are sick of this double standard. If we have to choose, we’d all rather our tax dollars be spent on steak for heroes instead of bureaucrats who hate us. Why is it such a problem to reward those who make real sacrifices? Maybe the real question is: Why does the Left keep putting America last?
