Senator John Cornyn has dropped a political bombshell and the Washington establishment is shaking. For years, Cornyn stood as a bulwark for the filibuster—a rule meant to force real debate and slow the Democrats’ rush to pass disastrous progressive laws. Suddenly, he’s done waiting. He’s ready to tear it down if it means passing the SAVE America Act. The old rules were supposed to keep things fair, but fairness didn’t get us border security, lower inflation, or real action to save our schools and families. The clock is ticking, and America can’t afford more empty talk.
Of course, the liberal elites are howling. They want to keep the filibuster alive just long enough to stop conservatives from doing what actually works. Funny how they have a meltdown when Republicans play hardball—but they never hesitated to break the rules when it suited their globalist agenda. Remember Harry Reid breaking the filibuster for judges? Democrats only love the filibuster when it’s a tool to block America-first policies.
When conservatives show backbone, the left screams about “norms” and “democracy.” What are those worth when our sovereignty is under attack? How many more years does the GOP have to wait while American towns are flooded with drugs, illegal immigration spirals out of control, and our middle class gets crushed by inflation? The time for polite debates is over. Cornyn finally realizes: if you want real change, you have to fight fire with fire.
Let’s not pretend the opposition has any moral high ground. Liberals would torch every Senate rule if it meant ramming their woke, anti-American garbage through Congress. They have no problem trampling traditions when it fits their radical playbook. Now that a conservative is wielding the same power for the sake of saving this country, suddenly it’s a crisis. Their hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious—or more pathetic.
Cornyn’s move is a wake-up call. Americans are tired of Republican hand-wringing and Democrat stonewalling. If you have the guts to put America first, then it’s time to break the gridlock, smash through the red tape, and get things done. Are conservatives finally ready to stop playing defense and start winning again? The answer is long overdue.
