Old Dominion University shooting exposes shocking failures of immigration and justice systems

There’s been another shocking scene on an American campus—this time at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. A gunman stormed into a classroom and unleashed chaos, leaving students and faculty terrified for their lives. But now, as more details come out about this shooter, the real scandal is unfolding: our immigration and justice systems are once again exposed as completely broken.

The identity of the gunman tells you everything you need to know about where our country is headed. It’s the same sad story: another individual who, according to initial reports, had no business being inside an American classroom in the first place. Where’s the vetting? Where’s law enforcement? Where are the so-called “leaders” who claim to put Americans first, yet turn a blind eye to threats right under our noses?

For years, conservatives warned about exactly this kind of disaster. Liberals mocked, lectured, and called it fearmongering. Meanwhile, globalists and open border enthusiasts cheered on policies making it easy for potential threats to slip through unchecked. The result? More innocent people put in danger because the elites refuse to defend our borders and enforce our laws.

Let’s call this what it is: the direct result of a soft-on-crime, soft-on-security mentality. The left keeps pushing “compassion” and “inclusivity” without ever asking—does this make Americans safer? Do citizens at ODU feel safer after today? Or is it just more proof that the people in charge have no clue how to protect us from real, present dangers?

Americans didn’t ask for this, and they certainly don’t deserve it. Yet every time another headline like this comes out, Democrats and their media allies rush to cover their tracks, change the subject, and blame everything except their own failed policies. How many more “wake-up calls” do they need before they finally put the security of Americans ahead of political correctness? Or is it that the ruling class simply doesn’t care?
