Massachusetts official blows taxpayer cash on steak tips vanity portraits and shady payouts

For years, Massachusetts taxpayers trusted their leaders with their hard-earned money. What did they get in return? A government official who saw the public purse as his private piggy bank. Thomas Clasby, the man supposed to be looking out for Quincy’s seniors, decided his job was the perfect cover for living large on the city’s dime. Residents who struggle to keep up with soaring costs can look on as their money bought steak tips, vanity portraits, and even a car so he could drive around in smug “eco-friendly” style.

You can’t make this stuff up—even Hollywood wouldn’t dream of writing such a farce. While leftist bureaucrats drone on about equity and transparency, one of their own was stuffing his face with 153 pounds of bourbon steak tips—on your dollar. When he wasn’t splurging on expensive meals, he spent taxpayer money so he could croon in a recording studio and hang a lacquered self-portrait on his wall. All while parents, workers, and seniors pinch pennies to make ends meet. It’s no wonder trust in government is in the gutter.

What else did the elites buy for themselves? Clasby funneled tens of thousands to a New York “consulting company” owned by a friend. No real services. Just cash delivered to shady meetups at rest stops and ferry terminals. This wasn’t public service—this was old-fashioned Democrat cronyism, the kind that has poisoned blue states for decades. Is anyone really surprised? Corruption is just another Tuesday in far-left city halls run by “progressive” hacks blinded by entitlement and greed.

This isn’t just one bad apple. Massachusetts, like so many liberal strongholds, is plagued by self-serving politicians who use bloated government budgets as their own playground. They slap lofty titles on their departments—call it “Elder Services”—then steal from the very people they claim to protect. All while preaching about fairness and public good, they line their pockets and smugly expect you to keep quiet. Enough is enough.

It’s long past time for real accountability in government—because the left has shown time and time again they care more about steak tips and selfies than serving the people. How many more corrupt officials are out there, milking the system? Maybe the only question left is: Who’s next to get caught with their hand in the taxpayer cookie jar?
