Donald Trump has never been afraid to speak his mind, especially when it comes to standing up to brutal regimes like the one running Iran. He’s always encouraged ordinary Iranians to stand strong and take back their country from the radical mullahs. He once told them, after the fighting is over, this country would be theirs, not the clowns in charge sitting in palaces with gold faucets while their people starve.
But now, Trump seems to be dialing back those bold calls for freedom. It’s hard not to wonder why. Maybe the usual swarm of globalist experts and D.C. insiders told him to cool it. Maybe, in their eyes, it’s safer to play nice and let Iran’s thugs keep their chokehold on power. That’s the kind of empty strategy Democrats and Biden-types love—look the other way, let evil win, and pray the problem just goes away.
Liberals and their media pals can slap “stable” on any regime they want, but anyone with common sense knows the Iranian rulers treat their people like pawns. Still, the left acts like they’re scared the moment freedom has a shot. They’re quick to criticize Trump for being too strong, and now they’ll probably cheer that maybe he’s not stirring the pot enough. But since when is freedom a bad thing? Do we let dictators off the hook just because D.C. is uncomfortable?
Meanwhile, the Biden administration sits on its hands. They’re obsessed with their failed “diplomacy,” handing out cash and talking points, getting nothing in return but empty promises and more terror. If anything, Trump was right to encourage Iranians to fight for themselves. America should always support those who want to break free from tyrants. If you won’t help people stand up to oppressors, what do you stand for at all?
So now, with Trump pulling back even just a little, you can be sure the world’s worst leaders are grinning. The left seems happier when America shuts up and plays small. But if the U.S.—and its leaders—stop rooting for regular folks fighting for liberty, who’s left to do the job? Or is that exactly what the liberals want—a world where only the bullies win?
