Barack Obama just couldn’t help himself. At the memorial for Rev. Jesse Jackson, he ignored the explicit wishes of the Jackson family and brought politics right into the church. This is exactly what so many Americans have come to expect from liberal elites—turning every moment, even a funeral, into a chance to push their own political agenda.
Chicago Democrats are fighting among themselves, and it’s all on display. While the Jackson family asked for a solemn, respectful service, Obama marched in and made it about his own vision. He showed, once again, how the left thinks their ideas are more important than anyone else’s grief, traditions, or cultural moments. Instead of unity or compassion, we saw ego and self-promotion. Some people just cannot imagine a moment when their opinions aren’t center stage.
It’s not just disrespect. It shows the complete tone-deafness that plagues the Democratic Party—especially in cities like Chicago, where regular folks are sick of being told what to think and how to feel by millionaire politicians like Obama. This family wanted a time to mourn, not a lecture. But even at a funeral, the left puts the cause before people.
Maybe it’s high time Americans notice the pattern: ordinary citizens and their families told to sit down and stay quiet while globalist politicians push their own agenda, no matter the cost. The liberals’ so-called “unity” falls apart the minute they don’t get to be in control of the message. Respect for families, traditions, and even death itself is cast aside if it means scoring a few political points.
How many more times will Americans let the left hijack even our most personal moments? If a family’s wishes aren’t safe from a Democrat’s soapbox, what is? Maybe next time, someone should tell Obama that respecting other people doesn’t require a teleprompter.
