Cuban Families Revolt While Liberal Elites Sip Lattes and Ignore Socialist Brutality

The people of Cuba have had enough. Over the weekend, angry crowds flooded the streets in Morón, a city far from the tourist cameras and government propaganda in Havana. Ordinary Cubans—men, women, even children—showed up outside their local Communist Party headquarters, demanding something basic: light. Power. A life free from blackouts and government lies. Years of empty promises from their socialist overlords have delivered only darkness and misery.

Let’s be honest—the left loves to romanticize the Cuban regime. Liberal elites in America love to sip lattes and mythicalize a “brave socialist island” while ignoring the reality: Cuban families can’t keep the lights on, put food on their tables, or voice real opinions without risking jail. The people on the ground know better. That’s why they’re protesting. Real socialism doesn’t hand out equality or justice. It just makes everyone equally poor, equally hungry, and equally oppressed—unless, of course, you’re lucky enough to be in government.

Meanwhile, the world’s globalist crowd will no doubt rush to blame the United States for these problems. They love blaming America anytime tyranny fails. But let’s get something straight: these blackouts, food shortages, and crushed hopes are homegrown. Decades of iron-fisted Marxist rule built this disaster, not freedom or capitalism. When people are forced to beg for basic services, that’s not a U.S. embargo at work. That’s socialism on full display.

You’d think the Biden administration and their woke allies would say something, maybe even stand up for freedom and democracy. But as usual, we get silence or shallow statements at best. They’re too busy kneeling to their own party’s radicals or handing out billions to left-wing causes overseas. The suffering of real people under a socialist regime doesn’t fit their narrative. It never did.

So here’s the question: How many more times do people have to rise up, risk their lives, and demand freedom before liberals admit that socialism is a disaster? The Cuban people are showing the courage the left never will. Maybe it’s time the world listens to those living in the darkness, not the ones tweeting from their comfy apartments in New York and San Francisco.
