Liberal leaders in deep-blue states just can’t help themselves. They see a pile of cash, and their first instinct is to snatch as much as possible—no matter who it hurts. The latest power grab? A so-called “millionaires’ tax” in Washington. Of course, Democrats are patting themselves on the back for squeezing more out of their top earners. But guess who’s warning everyone about the pinch? Not some right-wing activist—an NFL general manager! That’s right: someone from the heart of big-league sports is speaking up, saying these wild taxes will sting, even for millionaire athletes.
This is what happens when out-of-touch politicians push their pet projects and fake social justice schemes. They love to pretend these taxes only hit the super-rich. In reality, the pain trickles down—fans get pricier tickets, teams lose top talent, and local businesses struggle when big names skip town. It’s bad for the game, bad for the city, and bad for America.
The hypocrisy from the left is almost laughable. Liberals scream that politics has no place in sports. Yet, here they go, dragging their tax plans right into the stadium, right onto the field. They want to virtue-signal about “economic fairness,” but all they deliver is higher costs and fewer opportunities. The so-called “progressive” agenda never stops at the wealthy. Sooner or later, everyone pays for their big-government schemes.
Globalist interests love to watch American cities wrestle with these destructive ideas. The more we kneecap our own teams and businesses, the easier it is for foreign leagues and companies to swoop in and capitalize on our weakness. That’s what the left doesn’t get: their backward policies open the door for anti-American interests to win. They’re throwing away the American Dream for the sake of bad optics and worse economics.
At this rate, who can blame the best and brightest for packing up and leaving these tax-happy blue states? If Democrats think they can keep breaking the backs of their own communities with endless “reform,” they’re in for a rude awakening. How much more are honest Americans supposed to swallow before we demand real leadership that actually believes in prosperity and freedom?
